ACCOUNT DELETION

Delete your Gearshift account.

You can permanently delete your Gearshift account and the account data connected to it from the app. This page explains the process and provides an alternative way to request deletion if you cannot sign in.

Sign in

Open Gearshift and sign in to the client account you want to remove.

Open your account

Select your profile photo, then choose Delete account.

Confirm securely

Enter your current password and type DELETE. The deletion completes immediately after confirmation.

What deletion removes

Deleting a Gearshift account permanently removes the account and the account-specific data Gearshift controls, including:

  • sign-in credentials, sessions and password-reset links;
  • notification choices, device registrations and mobile tracking credentials;
  • optional daily distance summaries, trip metadata, hashed car Bluetooth fingerprints and trip-tracking settings;
  • booking requests, valuation requests and in-app support conversations;
  • profile photos, contact details and the link between your account and its client profile.

Background kilometre tracking is disabled during deletion. Encrypted trip geometry stored for road matching is deleted with the account. You can also remove any locally stored app data through your device settings.

Records that may remain

Your participating dealership may need to retain detached vehicle, completed-service and appointment records to meet legal, accounting, audit, warranty or dispute-resolution obligations. A retained vehicle record can include the last recorded odometer, including kilometres previously confirmed from optional daily tracking. Those records are no longer connected to your Gearshift sign-in, contact details or account profile.

Where a lawful retention obligation applies, the dealership is responsible for its own retention period. We will explain any limited record we cannot erase in response to a verified external request.
